You Get What You Expect

Whatever you expect to happen is determined by the thoughts you dwell
upon plus the intensity of the emotions behind those thoughts. It is
worth repeating that our subconscious does not question the validity of
the data we present to it. It merely processes it and attracts to us
what we believe to be true.

If we are using imagery to change habit patterns, we must see ourselves
acting and reacting the way we want to be in the future. It doesn't
matter how we acted today or yesterday.

Once our subconscious gets hold of our new thought, our brain-mind,
functioning together through our central nervous system, will take over
and we will automatically assume the new behavior patterns. The key is
to be able to picture or imagine the end result so vividly that it
appears real.

We have learned that our subconscious mind functions in terms of goals
or end results. Once the subconscious has accepted an idea, you can
absolutely depend upon it to take you to that goal. If we will supply
the end results, our subconscious will supply the "how to." It will
show us how to reach that end result.

Think of the end results in terms of present possibilities. They must
be seen so clearly that they seem real to your brain and nervous
system. The ultimate aim of affirmation and visualization is to evoke
the feeling that the goal is already achieved.

Feel as though it has already been achieved and your imagery will pull
you toward the end result that you desire. Imagine it in as much detail
as possible. Keep using the imaging process over and over again for the
same goal. In the beginning, don't worry about whether you are putting
in enough detail. Every time you visualize you will automatically
incorporate more and more detail.

Always put yourself in the picture. See yourself involved in the
activities of your goal. If you do not put yourself in the picture, you may not be
in the end result. Suppose you want a new car - let's say a new BMW. You
visualize the car and faithfully infuse your imagery with emotion,

detail and repetition. And then, all of a sudden, a new BMW comes into your
life. You look out the window of your house and your neighbor is
driving a new BMW! You now have new BMW in your life, but you are not in it!
So, make sure you identify yourself with your goal.

All successful individuals have started with a picture held in their
mind.They visualized and affirmed what they wanted to be, to do and to have.
And then they instructed their subconscious with clarity and repetition.

“There is no such thing as failure”

When you read the quote above, what’s your reaction?

Do you think it’s untrue? Silly glass-half-empty stuff?

What if I told you that only you have the power to decide whether or

not something is indeed, a “failure?”

In fact, there are some individuals—highly successful people—who

believe the very word “failure” has no place in our vocabulary.

Let’s talk about why.

Opposite Day

As a kid, you probably played that game “opposite day.”

You’d play practical jokes on your family and friends and release some

passive aggression in the process of claiming “opposite day.”

It was great—you could call the cutest girl in the class “ugly,” and

then take it all back by simply exclaiming “opposite day!”

But, the end result is the same; you still would have acknowledged her

cuteness.

Well, let’s play the game.

What if today, failure really means success?

How can you acknowledge your success, even as you utter the word

“failure”? Well, you can point out:

a. everything that was learned in the process of getting to where

you are now—surely not everything goes to the scrap heap

b. that simply being able to recognize everything hadn’t gone

according to plan, or achieved the desired outcome (i.e. “failed”), is

in itself a positive outcome

c. that the specific path you took this go round, clearly wasn’t

the right one and so it has successfully been eliminated and will not

be repeated

d. that you’ll know to do things differently in the future

e. that the experience has enabled you to grow in some way

“Failure” is feedback

“Failure” can simply be a great way to get us to pause in the midst of

our process, and get some critical information to indicate that we may

need to change direction, try something new, continue our learning, or

shift our focus.

Imagine what would happen if we didn’t get that feedback, and continued

endlessly along the wrong path, toward the wrong goal, or without ever

learning a new approach?

The thought is pretty scary, isn’t it.

Failure then, can really be seen as positive feedback—information that

gets us back on the right track!

For, without it, we would surely be lost.

The key then, is to identify it quickly, and change direction, try

something new, or shift our focus.

Here are some tips:

 Always have a clear idea of where you want to go and continue

to re-evaluate it as you move forward

 Identify specific milestones or markers along the way, to let

you know you’re on the right track and celebrate each success

 If something doesn’t appear to be working, or working fast

enough, don’t hesitate to try something new

 Continually learn—from others with whom you work, seek out

experts, find others who may have traveled down a similar road before

And always remember:

“You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we

call “failure” is not the falling down, but the staying down”

“You NEVER fail until you stop trying”

“If you are not making any mistakes, you’re not really doing anything

with your life”

Your own thoughts manifest themselves into your own reality.

Changing the negative things you think by replacing them with positive thoughts gives you the power to tap into your subconscious mind power.

The condition at waking is a reflection of the thought pattern established in the subconscious mind the night before. If you go to bed thinking about how bad things are and wondering how you are able to go through the next day or week, you will awaken the next day with an unhappy and dreadful state of mind. But if you go to bed thinking of what you are grateful for and looking forward to the possibilities you can achieve tomorrow, you will awaken with energy and focus for the day.

The subconscious mind does its best work while the conscious mind is in a state of suspension or inactive, or while you sleep. The way to trigger success consciousness is when you are sleeping. Send a message to your subconscious mind when you go to sleep and the message will sink in. It will override previous undesirable messages. You can do this at other times too but the best time is when you are asleep. It is a time when your conscious mind cannot interfere.

You normally try to get things done but you find yourself putting them off because you are not inspired to do them. When you have a task to perform, simply give your subconscious mind a picture of the completed job. Feel all the pleasure you are going to feel when you see the job accomplished. Then when you actually go about doing it, you will find that whatever is stopping you will disappear or becomes easy to overcome. You are able to feel the feeling of satisfaction all over again when it is completed. This is the key secret of getting rich. You are able to be very productive with this way of doing things.

Step by Step to Greatness

1. Pick the field you wish to specialize in; learn all you can about it, study the lives of the persons who have had outstanding success in that field, then strive to emulate their pattern of thinking.
If you wish to be a doctor, study the lives of great scientists and specialists in medicine; if it is law you are interested in, become acquainted with the lives of the great lawyers of the past, and see how they succeeded. Constantly desire change and evolvement, for this is the Law of Action that will help you constantly evolve higher and higher in the future.

5. Aim for the stars, even though you may not achieve them. At least such an ambitious mind will assure you of reaching some kind of high goal. The incentive for aiming high must come from within, your desire to achieve greatness. Browning said, "Ah, but a man‘s reach should exceed his grasp, / Or what‘s a heaven for?"

6. Create a vortex of mental activity about yourself. Break the inertia which may be holding you back by doing something, almost anything is preferable to sitting back and refusing to make an effort. There is a law in nature which states, "Action and reaction," "Cause and Effect." When you set some action into motion, it must have an instantaneous reaction. There is no cause without its corresponding effect. If you make up your mind you are going to achieve something like playing the piano or doing touch typing, you can hold this idea in mind forever and yet if you do not take some step by action, you will never acquire facility in that field.

7. Never be satisfied with the limitations that life seems to have placed on you and your expression of your talents. Remember, all great people had to break the mould of negativity and limitation to achieve their dreams. The power is within your mind to rise as high as you aspire. If you lack the education, look about you for the means to improve your mind and acquire knowledge. Our vast libraries are filled with the priceless wisdom of the ages; go there and learn how to use your library to best advantage. These are correspondence courses you may take in the privacy of your own home, from high school to college subjects, that can help improve your mind and prepare you for a better position.
